Hello,
This is Adrian Westbrooke. I am new to the world of self-publishing, and would like to say how grateful and humbled I am by the reception my books have received thus far. It is thrilling to think of others reading them and taking pleasure in stories that, for so long, existed only in my imagination.
The great sailing traditions of the late eighteenth century and the Napoleonic wars have long fascinated me—not only the naval history, but many other aspects besides. Even as a boy, I was captivated, as so many were, by the voyages of James Cook; and so, naturally, I had to begin there with Nicholas.
I am delighted to share that the fifth book, Liberty’s Edge, should be complete within the next few weeks.

Do you have an approximate date for the publication of Book5?
Hello Richard, I plan to publish Book 5, Liberty’s Edge, sometime in the next two weeks. Thank you for your interest!

Will there be a book 6? I find this series among the best I’ve read
Hello Mike,
Yes I am working hard on the next book which should be out this month. Thank you for the kind words I am glad you are enjoying the books. Adrian.
Hello the sixth book, Northern Edge, was just published on Amazon.
I have been very pleased to read your Nicholas Cruwys series through Book Six. Your writing style and the creativity – and tension – of your stories are compelling. Equal to any of the traditional authors and series in this genre. Having just now finished Book Six and sitting on the front edge of the French Revolution and the massive resumption of the British Navy’s strength, I certainly hope you will continue Nicholas’ journey?!🙏 Thank you for several weeks of reading pleasure!
John thank you for the kind words. Yes I am hard at work on the next book. Adrian
I am in the middle of Crescent’s Edge, enjoying the setting and story as ever. But I yearn for the occasional well-chosen adverb! It is never a good plan to eschew one part of speech entirely! The lengthy descriptive clauses become exhausting. Please, Adrian. Even Patrick O’Brian uses adverbs.
Sandy thank you for the comments and the spirit in which you made them…I’m no Patrick O’Brian and I take your point!
